“Children Ministry is not for the faint-hearted.”
For years, I have walked through some of the most painful moments any human being can ever experience while serving vulnerable children here in Uganda. I have held children in my arms on the way to the hospital, praying for a miracle, only for them to breathe their last because help came too late. Not because their parents neglected them, but because they simply could not afford medical care.
Imagine losing a child because a family could not raise money for treatment.
This is the harsh reality many families live in every single day.
Right now, we are facing another heartbreaking situation involving nearly 10 children who may fail to register with the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) to sit for their Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE). This exam marks the completion of their entire primary education journey — a journey of 10 years.
And the reason?
Their parents cannot afford the registration fee of only $12.
To many people, $12 may seem small, but for some of our caregivers, it is more money than they have ever held at one time in their lives. Some survive on less than $1. For them, raising $12 is impossible.
Imagine a child losing 10 years of education because they cannot afford $12.
This is not a movie.
This is not an exaggeration.
This is a true story happening in our schools here in Uganda today.
As a pastor and servant of God, nothing is more painful than watching children suffer and being unable to meet every need because the burden is greater than what you can carry alone.
Poverty is a loud destroyer of children’s futures.
Children Ministry is not for the faint-hearted.”
Pray with us! Pray with and for Children!!
